State Route 183 Accident Kills 74-Year-Old Castroville Man [Monterey County, CA]

Monterey County, CA (June 4, 2022) On Friday, a 74-year-old man from Castroville, died in a multi-vehicle accident on State Route 183.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that the fatal crash happened at around 4:30 a.m. north of San Jon Road.

Reports say that a 47-year-old Holtville woman driving a Ford crossed the broken yellow line opposite lane and collided with a Lincoln Continental driver by the 74-year-old driver.

The impact of the collision caused the Ford to spin back to the northbound lane and collided again with a Farm Labor Bus.

Consequently, the Castroville driver died at the scene and paramedics transported the Holtville woman to a hospital.

Meanwhile, the 64-year-old Farm Labor Bus driver did not suffer injuries.

Authorities are investigating the fatal crash on SR-183 and have ruled out impairment as a factor in the crash.
