Amy Kisner Dies in Head-On Crash in Merced County

Merced County, CA (February 7, 2026) — On Thursday morning, Steve Pinocchio and 3 others were hurt in a deadly crash on Oakdale Road that claimed the life of 21-year-old Amy Kisner.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on Oakdale Road east of Fisher Road as dense fog reduced visibility.

Investigators said a 21-year-old woman driving a Toyota Prius eastbound attempted to pass slower traffic and entered the westbound lane, where she collided head-on with a Chevrolet Suburban.

The Prius driver, identified as Kisner, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by witnesses. Pinocchio, the Suburban’s driver and three juvenile passengers sustained moderate to serious injuries and were transported to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities reported that the Suburban’s driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the investigation. Officials said impairment did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
