Police Investigate Crash at Bar W Elementary in Liberty Hill in Austin

Liberty Hill, TX (November 4, 2025) — A crash at Bar W Elementary in Liberty Hill injures one student, who is recovering at home early Tuesday morning.

According to school officials, the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. during student drop-off hours, as the child was crossing a driveway on school property.

Principal Joy Hudgens sent a message to families confirming the child was transported to the hospital for evaluation and is expected to return to school later this week.

The school nurse and campus staff responded immediately before emergency services arrived.

A spokesperson for Liberty Hill ISD confirmed that the driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with Liberty Hill ISD Police Department.

The student’s age and grade have not been disclosed to protect the child’s privacy.

Principal Hudgens urged families to exercise additional caution during drop-off and pick-up times to ensure student safety.

This incident follows recent community concerns about traffic safety near school zones, including a petition filed by a local crossing guard at Santa Rita Elementary, requesting stop signs to improve pedestrian safety.

The Liberty Hill ISD Police Department is actively investigating the crash.
