Arlington Resident Susan Komanetsky Dead in Vehicle Crash on FM 1053 [Crane, TX]

Crane, TX (April 22, 2025) – 32-year-old Susan Komanetsky of Arlington was killed in a vehicle crash on FM 1053 Wednesday.

The deadly 2-vehicle crash happened around 10:20 a.m. north of the intersection of FM 1233. 

DPS officers said a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia towing a trailer, was traveling north on FM 1053. 

At the same time, a 2025 Volkswagen Jetta, was traveling south on the same highway.

Police said the 2016 Freightliner suffered a tire blow on the front left tire and swerved into the southbound lane. The Freightliner then collided head-on with the Volkswagen. 

Freightliner caught fire. Ronnie Lewis Barlow, 59, of Peoria, Arizona, was driving the Freightliner.

The authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
