Eldon Man Seriously Injured in Late-Night Miller County Crash
Miller County, MO (November 19, 2025) — A 42-year-old man from Eldon sustained serious injuries after a frightening crash on Gensert Road late Sunday night in Miller County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 19-year-old Eldon woman was driving a 2011 Ford Explorer south on Gensert Road near Foote Lane Road around 11 p.m. when the vehicle began to skid. The SUV slid across the roadway and struck a tree head-on.
The driver suffered minor injuries, while her passenger received serious injuries. Emergency crews transported both to Lake Regional Hospital. Troopers noted that both occupants were wearing seatbelts, but the vehicle sustained heavy damage.
Let’s Drive Safer Together
High-speed crashes can occur in the blink of an eye, but so many are preventable with small, intelligent decisions. Pay attention, don’t get distracted (say, by texting) and never drive after drinking. As ever – obey speed limits, buckle up and keep plenty of room between yourself and other vehicles. These are small enough measures to save lives — including your own.
We can all take steps to help keep our roads safe for ourselves, our families and our communities.
If you’re driving at night or in unfamiliar areas, reduce your speed and stay alert—skidding happens quickly, and even minor mistakes can lead to serious injuries. Stay safe and buckle up every time.
Steps to Take When You’ve Been in a Car Accident
If you get into a traffic accident, it can be a frightening situation and many people do not know what to do afterwards, which may have a big impact on your safety as well as your rights.
First, assess yourself and others for injuries. If anyone is hurt, call 911 immediately. If you can move your vehicle, do so in a safe location, and put on your hazard lights to warn other drivers. Exchange details with the other driver such as names, numbers, insurance company information, and license plate numbers. (And if there are witnesses nearby, try to get their information, too.)
Photograph the scene, damage to the vehicles and any injuries. If the damage appears to be minor, document everything anyway.
Then get medical care — even if you feel fine. Some injuries can have a delayed presentation. Lastly, reach out to a seasoned personal injury lawyer, such as the Sweet Lawyers. They’ll explain your legal rights and navigate the insurance claims process, so you can focus on what’s most important.
Those minutes after a crash are critical. Staying calm, acting swiftly and figuring out what kind of aid is available could help protect your health, your finances and your future.
