Ivanny Torres Arrested after Fatal Crash on Highway 87, Hit-And-Run and Assaulted a Woman and DPS Trooper in Eloy

 
Eloy, AZ (June 2, 2021)– Early Monday morning, a 31-year-old Talon Nunez died after a crash on Highway 87 at Hanna Road.
 
Subsequently, police arrested a 25-year-old Ivanny Torres after stealing a car, a deadly crash, a hit-and-run, and assaulting a woman and DPS trooper.
 
The Eloy fatal crash happened before 1 a.m. on May 31.
 
Reportedly, Torres stole a pickup truck in Chandler on Sunday and possibly involved in a hit-and-run near Highways 87 and 187.
 
Moreover, Torres arrived in Coolidge around 3:45 in the afternoon and took a Nissan Altima from a family member.
 
Then before 1 a.m. Monday, police say Torres was believed to have crashed on Highway 87 at Hanna Road. When Coolidge officers arrived they found the gray Nissan Altima and a badly damaged motorcycle.
 
The motorcycle rider identified as 31-year-old Talon Nunez died from his injuries and was found about 30 yards south of the accident.
 
Before the officers eventually arrest Torres, he stole another vehicle from a CoreCivic employee, started a fight with another person, sprayed into one of the trooper’s faces, and bit him.
 
Eloy paramedics then took Torres to Banner Casa Grande Medical Center for his injuries from the crash and his odd behavior. Torres then allegedly told medical staff he recently used fentanyl and meth.
 
After Torres was released from the hospital, law enforcement then took him to the Pinal County Detention Facility.
 
Coolidge police continue to further investigate the incident.
