Teenage Boy Hospitalized After Crash on South Street in Long Beach

Long Beach, CA (December 19, 2025) – On Friday morning, a teenage boy sustained injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a crash on South Street. 

The incident occurred around 7:36 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Street at Walnut Avenue, according to Sgt. Bradford Stein of the Long Beach Police Department.

Preliminary reports indicate the teen was using the crosswalk when an adult male driver hit him. 

Emergency responders from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived at the scene and transported the boy to a nearby hospital. 

He suffered upper body injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. 

According to Sgt. Stein, distracted driving is being considered as a possible contributing factor.
