MORENO VALLEY, CA (June 30, 2026) — A 17-year-old boy died Sunday night after a solo-car crash on 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 9:40 p.m. near Heacock Avenue.

Authorities said the adult driver of a Tesla was speeding and attempted to pass traffic on the right shoulder of the freeway. The driver then lost control and crashed into a guardrail.

The impact ejected the teenage rear passenger from the vehicle. He died from his injuries.
