Two Missouri Teens Seriously Hurt After Vehicle Crashes Into Creek on Christmas Eve
Randolph County, MO (December 26, 2025) — On Christmas Eve, a late-night crash on West Shore Drive left two teenagers with serious injuries.
According to authorities, that crash happened just before 11:30 p.m., when a 2025 Chrysler Pacifica was traveling along West Shore Drive when the vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway and plunged into a nearby creek.
Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene shortly after the collision.
Emergency medical crews transported the 17-year-old driver from Cairo, Missouri, and a 16-year-old passenger from Kansas City to the University of Missouri Hospital. Both teens were listed in serious condition. Investigators have not yet released details on what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
The incident remains under investigation.
Let’s Drive Safer Together
High-speed crashes can occur in the blink of an eye, but so many are preventable with small, intelligent decisions. Pay attention, don’t get distracted (say, by texting) and never drive after drinking. As ever – obey speed limits, buckle up and keep plenty of room between yourself and other vehicles. These are small enough measures to save lives — including your own.
We can all take steps to help keep our roads safe for ourselves, our families and our communities.
Road conditions and visibility can worsen at night, especially during the holidays. Drivers should slow down, stay alert, and avoid distractions to reduce the risk of losing control and causing serious injuries.
