Multiple Teens Injured in Party Bus Crash on Highway 99 [Merced, CA]

Merced, CA (March 5, 2023) – On Saturday afternoon, a party bus crash on Highway 99 resulted in injured teenagers. 

According to the CHP, the rollover accident happened around 2 p.m. on the Martin Luther King Jr Way offramp. 

Reportedly, a party bus with 16 teenagers on board rolled over on the off-ramp in the southbound lanes of HWY 99.

Authorities stated that the bus driver attempted to avoid a collision with other vehicles and swerved the bus, the action caused the bus to overturn instead.

Initial investigation indicates that the bus experienced mechanical failure while exiting the freeway. Moreover, the bus was on its way to a quinceanera in Merced. 

Police say that multiple teenagers suffered moderate injuries, and paramedics transported the injured teens to a hospital. Meanwhile, other teenagers sustained minor injuries, first responders treated them at the scene.
