64-Year-Old Teodora Castro Hospitalized in MLK Boulevard DUI Crash [Lubbock, TX]

Lubbock, TX (June 16, 2024) – 64-year-old Teodora Castro was injured in an MLK Boulevard DUI crash late Friday night.

The two-vehicle collision happened past 11:30 p.m. at the intersection with Idalou Road.

LPD officers said 19-year-old Saul Hernandez was driving a westbound pickup truck on the 1700 block of Idalou Highway. At the same time, Castro was eastbound on the 1500 block of 19th Street. 

Castro attempted to turn north on MLK Boulevard but collided with Hernandez. The paramedics took her to University Medical Center.

Hernandez, on the other hand, was booked at the Lubbock County Detention Center for Intoxication Assault.
