Richland, WA (June 21, 2025) — 58-year-old Teresa Weers of Richland lost her life in a crash involving a semi-truck at the intersection of Duportail Street and SR 240 in Richland on Friday night.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Weers was driving southbound on Duportail Street when she entered the intersection. Investigators said a semi-truck traveling westbound on SR 240 failed to stop at a red light and struck the driver’s side of her SUV.

Weers was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said she was not wearing a seat belt. A child riding as a passenger in the SUV suffered injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The child’s condition has not been released.
