Idaho Man Thomas Nafe Jr Dead in SR 290 Head-On Crash [Spokane, WA]

Spokane, WA (December 29, 2025) – Thomas Nafe Jr., 61, of Athol, Idaho, and another driver, were killed in a SR 290 head-on crash Saturday.

The traffic collision happened at the intersection with Harvard Road.

WSP officers said a 20-year-old Clayton man was driving a westbound 2004 blue Volkswagen that crossed the center line and struck a 2004 red Dodge driven by Nafe Jr.

Sadly, Nafe Jr and the Volkswagen’s driver died in the collision.

Troopers said the 20-year-old driver was not wearing a seatbelt and consider speeding as a factor in this crash.
