Toyota Passenger Airlifted After Three-Vehicle Crash on Falcon Highway
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (September 25, 2026) — A three-vehicle crash on Falcon Highway near Buckboard Drive sent one person to the hospital by helicopter Thursday afternoon, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The crash happened at approximately 2:32 p.m. Thursday, prompting authorities to close Falcon Highway in both directions.
According to preliminary findings released by the Colorado State Patrol, the collision involved a 2005 Dodge Ram, a Toyota Corolla, and a Chevrolet Lumina.
The Dodge was traveling east on Falcon Highway when the Chevrolet, which had stopped in front of the Toyota, attempted to turn left from eastbound Falcon Highway onto northbound Buckboard Drive.
State patrol investigators said the front of the Dodge struck the rear of the Toyota. The impact pushed the Toyota forward into the driver’s side of the Chevrolet.
The 74-year-old Toyota driver suffered minor injuries that did not require hospitalization, officials said. A 21-year-old male passenger in the Toyota sustained injuries and was transported to an area hospital by helicopter. Authorities had not released an update on his condition.
The 18-year-old Dodge driver and two passengers were not injured.
The 17-year-old Chevrolet driver also escaped injury.
The Falcon Fire Department used the jaws of life to extricate one of the crash victims, according to officials.
Authorities closed Falcon Highway for approximately one hour and 15 minutes while emergency crews responded and investigated the collision. Officials reopened the roadway at approximately 3:49 p.m.
The Colorado State Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The preliminary findings do not represent a final determination of liability.

In this crash, Colorado State Patrol’s preliminary findings indicate that the Dodge struck the rear of the Toyota, which then moved forward and struck the Chevrolet.
Those preliminary findings describe the sequence of impacts but do not, by themselves, establish legal responsibility for injuries or damages.
The 21-year-old passenger required transportation to an area hospital by helicopter, while another person suffered minor injuries.
