Three Injured in Head-On Crash on U.S. Highway 169 [King City, MO]

3 Men Hospitalized After Crash on U.S Highway 169 in King City

King City, MO (February 26, 2026) – Three King City residents sustained injuries in a head-on crash on U.S Highway 169 in Gentry County Thursday morning.

The crash occurred just before 8:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 169 at the city limits of King City. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 28-year-old man was driving a pickup truck northbound on Highway 169 when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound pickup truck head-on. 

A 26-year-old King City man was driving the southbound truck.

The impact forced both vehicles to come to rest in the southbound lane of the highway.

The driver of the southbound pickup suffered moderate injuries. His passenger, a 56-year-old King City man, sustained serious injuries. 

The driver of the northbound pickup also suffered serious injuries. 

Emergency responders transported all three men to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.

Authorities reported that none of the individuals involved were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
