Police Investigate Crash on Bear Valley Road Involving Ford Mustang and Tractor-Trailer

Victorville, CA (July 15, 2026) – Three people suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Bear Valley Road involving a Ford Mustang and a tractor-trailer early Wednesday morning in Victorville, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

The collision occurred at approximately 3:54 a.m. on July 15, 2026, on Bear Valley Road east of Balsam Avenue.

Investigators said a white Ford Mustang and a red tractor-trailer collided in the No. 1 westbound lane of Bear Valley Road.

The Mustang sustained catastrophic damage, with its front end destroyed, the engine torn from the vehicle, and the roof sheared away.

The Mustang’s driver, an adult man from Phelan, suffered major injuries. Emergency responders transported him to Providence Saint Mary Medical Center before he was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

A front-seat passenger, an adult man from Apple Valley, also sustained major injuries. Responders transported him to Desert Valley Medical Center before airlifting him to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

A rear-seat passenger, an adult woman from Pinon Hills, suffered major injuries and was transported to Providence Saint Mary Medical Center.

The tractor-trailer driver, a man from Hesperia, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. He told VVNG he had been traveling westbound on Bear Valley Road when the Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound before the crash.

The semi-truck was hauling multiple forklifts on a flatbed trailer. Following the collision, one forklift partially slid off the trailer and remained suspended until a heavy-duty tow crew used a crane to secure it back onto the flatbed.

Deputies assigned to the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to investigate the crash. Authorities closed Bear Valley Road between Cypress Avenue and Balsam Avenue for several hours while crews processed the scene.

Investigators have not determined what caused the collision and have not said whether alcohol or drugs were factors. The investigation remains ongoing.
