Police Investigate Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 83 in Starr County
STARR COUNTY, TX (November 7, 2025)– A major three-vehicle crash on Highway 83 sent three people to the hospital Friday morning and caused significant traffic delays near the Starr and Hidalgo County line, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The crash occurred on the westbound side of U.S. 83, about one mile west of the county line and not far from Sullivan City.
Authorities say the collision involved three vehicles, though details regarding how the crash occurred have not yet been released.
Two drivers and one passenger were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Their current conditions have not been made public.
As of Friday morning, traffic was backed up nearly two miles west of Sullivan City. DPS has urged drivers to expect delays in the area and to exercise caution while passing through the crash scene.
The investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing.
