Pittsburg Man Dies in Accident Near Treat Boulevard
Walnut Creek, CA (February 17, 2023) – On Thursday, Timoteo Fernandez-Ortiz, a 56-year-old Pittsburg resident, lost his life in an Interstate 680 pedestrian accident.
The fatal accident took place at about 4:35 a.m. on the southbound freeway near Treat Boulevard exit.
CHP said Fernandez-Ortiz was within the lanes of traffic while a Toyota Corolla driver couldn’t avoid the collision. The authorities believe a second vehicle also may have struck Fernandez-Ortiz and that other people may have witnessed it.
The Toyota driver did not sustain injuries in the accident.
