Flint Resident Killed in Four-Vehicle Crash on West Toll 49 in Smith County
Flint, TX (March 14, 2026) — 63-year-old Tina Loper of Flint lost her life Thursday afternoon after a multi-vehicle crash on West Toll 49 in Smith County.
Authorities say that Loper was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision. According to investigators, the crash occurred around 1:50 p.m. near mile marker 19 between State Highway 155 and State Highway 31.
Officials said Loper was driving a Subaru SUV and had slowed down due to construction ahead when a tractor-trailer struck the rear of her vehicle. The impact pushed her SUV forward, triggering a chain-reaction crash involving a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Jeep.
The force of the collision proved fatal for Loper. Emergency crews confirmed her death at the scene.
Three other people involved in the crash suffered injuries, though authorities have not yet released details about their conditions. Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the collision.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Tina Loper during this difficult time. The sudden loss of a loved one in a traffic accident leaves a lasting impact on families and communities, and we hope those affected find comfort and support as they mourn this tragic loss.
When a Fatal Accident Changes Life Forever
Losing a loved one in a sudden crash is devastating. The grief can feel overwhelming, and for many families, that emotional pain is compounded by unexpected financial pressures—medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income or support your loved one once provided.
In moments like these, it’s important to know that you are not alone. A wrongful death claim can help families find a sense of justice and financial stability after an unimaginable loss. While no legal action can ever replace the person you’ve lost, it can provide accountability and help protect your family’s future.
Wrongful death claims can help families recover compensation for:
- Funeral and burial expenses
- Medical costs related to final care
- Lost income and future financial support
- Loss of companionship and emotional suffering
Beyond financial relief, pursuing a claim is often about accountability. Whether a crash was caused by distracted driving, speeding, or another form of negligence, holding the responsible party accountable can help bring closure and reduce the risk of similar tragedies happening to others.
