Wrong-Way Crash on US 385 in Oldham County Kills One, Injures Five
Oldham County, TX (June 30, 2026) — 47-year-old Toby Robbins died, and five others were injured in a wrong-way crash on U.S. Highway 385 in Oldham County late Saturday night.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 11:40 p.m. south of the Hartley County line. Investigators said a Volkswagen Atlas, driven by 22-year-old Joaquin Soto of Pharr, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a southbound Nissan Armada that was towing a trailer.
The impact sent the Volkswagen off the roadway, where it rolled over.
Authorities identified the driver of the Nissan Armada as Robbins of Pottsboro. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four passengers in the Armada were transported to a hospital in Amarillo. Three suffered minor injuries, while a 15-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries. Soto also suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
