Toddler in Critical Condition After Head-On Crash on South Marengo Avenue [Pasadena, CA]

3 People Hospitalized in Crash on South Marengo Avenue in Pasadena

Pasadena, CA (February 11, 2026) – A female toddler remains in critical condition following a head-on crash on South Marengo Avenue on Monday afternoon, according to police.

Pasadena Police Lieutenant Monica Cuellar said officers responded at approximately 2:34 p.m. to the 1200 block of South Marengo Avenue, where a Honda and a BMW had collided head-on. 

Pasadena Fire Department paramedics transported all three occupants involved in the crash to local hospitals.

Authorities reported that two victims initially sustained life-threatening injuries. 

A 25-year-old woman from Los Angeles was later upgraded to stable condition. She suffered lacerations, abrasions, and a possible fractured foot. 

Her passenger, a female toddler, sustained internal injuries and head trauma and remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The other driver, a 26-year-old woman from Pasadena, suffered a fractured wrist and was transported for treatment. 

She remains in stable condition.

Due to the severity of the injuries, the Pasadena Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team took over the investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
