Toyota Driver Jaime Ruiz Dead in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 199 [Azle, TX]

Azle, TX (January 28, 2025) – 67-year-old Jaime Ruiz was killed in a 2-vehicle collision on Highway 199 Saturday night.

The fatal traffic crash happened near Commerce Street in North Texas.

According to Azle Police Department officers, a Ford F-250 with four passengers was eastbound on the highway when the driver lost control and crossed over the median.

The Ford then struck a westbound Toyota Tacoma carrying two passengers.

The Toyota Tacoma driver, Jaime Ruiz, was trapped inside the vehicle and was declared deceased. Rescuers were able to free the Tacoma passenger from the vehicle who incurred minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the Ford driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation including conducting a field sobriety test.

Azle PD is investigating the fatal crash.
