Truck Driver Seriously Injured in I-70 Crash in Lafayette County

Lafayette County, MO (May 5, 2025) — A tractor-trailer driver suffered serious injuries after a crash on Interstate 70 in Lafayette County on Saturday afternoon.

The collision happened near the 30-mile marker when the truck attempted to merge and struck another vehicle. Both drivers lost control and veered off the left side of the roadway. The truck then hit traffic barrels and slammed into a concrete barrier.

Emergency crews transported the 64-year-old driver from Waynesboro, Georgia, to St. Luke’s Hospital with serious injuries. Authorities have not released additional details about the other driver involved.
