Bicyclist Dies in Early Morning Crash on I-5 in National City
National City, CA (August 7, 2025) – A southbound BMW X3 struck and killed a bicyclist early Wednesday in a shocking traffic accident on Interstate 5.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the frightening crash happened near the Sweetwater River shortly before 1 a.m.
Reports say that the crash happened near Mile of Cars Way. Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Authorities said alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the incident. Additional details about the victim have not yet been released.
