Multi-Vehicle Crash in Kansas City Critically Injures One, Several Others Hurt
Kansas City, MO (May 28, 2025) – A multi-vehicle traffic accident on Troost Avenue left 1 person seriously hurt and resulted in several others getting hurt.
According to Kansas City police, the horrific crash happened around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard.
Reports say that the multi-vehicle crash Tuesday morning left one person in critical condition and injured several others.
Authorities say that the driver of a southbound white Volkswagen Tiguan veered into oncoming traffic and struck a northbound black Volkswagen Tiguan. The white Volkswagen then hit a white BMW X3, which rotated from the impact and collided with a northbound black Dodge Challenger. Debris from the crash also damaged a nearby Dodge Charger.
Officials say that the rear-seat passenger in the white Volkswagen, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and critically injured.
Emergency crews transported them to a hospital. The driver and front passenger of the white Volkswagen, along with the driver of the black Volkswagen and a rear passenger in the BMW, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Drivers of the BMW, Challenger, and Charger were unharmed.
Police are investigating whether impairment played a role in the crash.
Let’s Drive Safer Together
High-speed crashes can occur in the blink of an eye, but so many are preventable with small, intelligent decisions. Pay attention, don’t get distracted (say, by texting) and never drive after drinking. As ever – obey speed limits, buckle up and keep plenty of room between yourself and other vehicles. These are small enough measures to save lives — including your own.
We can all take steps to help keep our roads safe for ourselves, our families and our communities.
Always wear your seatbelt—no matter where you sit in a vehicle. Seatbelts save lives and can prevent serious injuries in sudden crashes.

Steps to Take When You’ve Been in a Car Accident
If you get into a traffic accident, it can be a frightening situation and many people do not know what to do afterwards, which may have a big impact on your safety as well as your rights.
First, assess yourself and others for injuries. If anyone is hurt, call 911 immediately. If you can move your vehicle, do so in a safe location, and put on your hazard lights to warn other drivers. Exchange details with the other driver such as names, numbers, insurance company information, and license plate numbers. (And if there are witnesses nearby, try to get their information, too.)
Photograph the scene, damage to the vehicles and any injuries. If the damage appears to be minor, document everything anyway.
Then get medical care — even if you feel fine. Some injuries can have a delayed presentation. Lastly, reach out to a seasoned personal injury lawyer, such as the Sweet Lawyers. They’ll explain your legal rights and navigate the insurance claims process, so you can focus on what’s most important.
Those minutes after a crash are critical. Staying calm, acting swiftly and figuring out what kind of aid is available could help protect your health, your finances and your future.
