Shocking Traffic Collision on Fortuna Road Led to Injuries [Yuma, AZ]

Yuma, AZ (February 16, 2026) — On Friday afternoon, authorities are investigating a traffic collision on Fortuna Road that left multiple people injured.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. near South Fortuna Road and East 24th Street.

Reports say that a Jeep Wagoneer stopped at a railroad crossing north of 24th Street when a Dodge Ram 2500 approached the line of traffic, failed to stop, and struck the rear of the Jeep.

Emergency crews arrived and transported the Jeep’s driver and passengers to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Dodge also went to the hospital but later required air transport to a Phoenix-area medical center due to serious injuries.

Investigators said speed and impairment do not appear to have contributed to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
