Tragic Traffic Collision on Gila Street Kills 2 People

Motorcycle-Car Crash on East Giss Parkway Claim Lives

Yuma, AZ (May 28, 2025) — Early Sunday morning, two people lost their lives following a two-vehicle collision on Gila Street involving a motorcycle.

According to police, the collision happened around 2:22 a.m. at the intersection with East Giss Parkway.

Investigators said a 21-year-old man was riding a motorcycle westbound with a 17-year-old female passenger when they collided with a Hyundai driven by a 64-year-old woman turning onto Gila Street.

The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The teenage passenger was taken to Onvida Hospital with critical injuries but later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities said the Hyundai driver was not hurt.

Officials continue to investigate the crash and believe speed may have contributed to the collision.
