Child and Senior Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on MO-76 in Stone County
Stone County, MO (August 31, 2025) On Thursday afternoon, a frightening traffic collision on Highway 76 involving two Ford vehicles injured a 4-year-old child and a 67-year-old man.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of MO-76 and Route Y, about three miles west of Reeds Spring.
Investigators said a 67-year-old man from Nixa, driving a 2013 Ford F-150, attempted to turn onto Route Y but failed to yield to an eastbound 2012 Ford Fusion driven by a 25-year-old woman from Cape Fair.
The vehicles collided, sustaining heavy damage and requiring towing. Emergency crews transported the 4-year-old passenger from the Fusion and the 67-year-old pickup driver to Cox Branson Hospital with minor injuries.
Keep Our Highways Safe
Traffic collisions can happen anytime, but their impact lasts a lifetime. Stay alert, avoid distractions, and never drive under the influence. Always wear your seatbelt, obey speed limits, and be mindful of pedestrians and cyclists. Keep a safe distance between vehicles and adjust your speed for road conditions.
Always double-check before making turns at intersections. Failing to yield can lead to serious collisions, especially on busy highways.
Even minor distractions can lead to dangerous crashes. Always take extra care when making turns at busy intersections and yield to oncoming traffic to prevent serious injuries.
