Head-On Traffic Collision on Missouri Route 8 Claims a Life [Washington County, MO]

Washington County, MO (June 14, 2025) — On Friday evening, a head-on collision on Missouri Route 8 killed a 30-year-old woman, and three others, including a child, suffered serious injuries in Washington County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:07 p.m. east of Ottertail Road. Investigators said a Dodge Ram traveling eastbound crossed into the westbound lane while attempting to pass several vehicles. The truck then collided head-on with an oncoming Volkswagen Jetta.

The woman driving the Jetta died at the scene. A 10-year-old girl riding in the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The 21-year-old driver of the Dodge Ram and his 20-year-old female passenger also suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
