Overnight Crash on SH-45 in Northwest Austin Sends Three to Hospital, Child Critically Injured

Austin, TX (December 19, 2025) — On Thursday, an overnight two-vehicle collision on SH-45 in northwest Austin sent three people to the hospital, including a child with critical injuries.

Austin-Travis County EMS responded just before midnight to the westbound lanes of the 13000 block of SH-45. Paramedics provided life-saving care at the scene while evaluating multiple people involved in the crash.

Reports say that the collision involved two vehicles and prompted officers to shut down the highway during the investigation.

EMS transported one pediatric patient in critical condition to Dell Children’s Medical Center North Campus. An adult and another child also went to the same hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Two additional adults declined treatment at the scene.

Authorities reopened the roadway around 2:20 a.m. Friday as the investigation continued.
