1 Person Dead in San Francisco Auto Accident on Interstate Highway 80 and Seventh Street

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 2, 2026) – Saturday morning, a devastating traffic crash on Interstate Highway 80 and Seventh Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. on Interstate Highway 80 and Seventh Street.

According to reports, a gray Chevrolet Camaro clipped a Recology truck for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Camaro over the sand barrels at the top of the exit, over the metal bridge railing, and crashed down into the San Francisco Police Department’s impound lot at 450 Seventh Street.

Moreover, responders pronounced a 17-year-old passenger of the Camaro dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the 18-year-old driver of the Camaro, the 17-year-old, and the 18-year-old passenger of the vehicle to a hospital with moderate to major injuries.

Furthermore, officers do not believe that impairment played a role in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the California Highway Patrol continued investigating the crash.
