Horrific Traffic Crash on US 60 Under Investigation [Monett, MO]

Monett, MO (May 24, 2025) — On Tuesday evening, a Tulsa man received multiple citations after a crash on US 60, involving a Monett Police Department vehicle.

According to police, the collision happened at the intersection with South Lincoln Avenue around 6:05 p.m. when a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado attempted to turn north onto South Lincoln Avenue from U.S. 60. Investigators said the truck entered a turn lane occupied by a Monett patrol vehicle.

Authorities reported the Silverado lost control during the turn, skidded, and crashed into the police vehicle and a civilian vehicle nearby. A trailer carrying heavy equipment overturned onto both vehicles, causing major damage.

Officials said no serious injuries were reported.

Police determined the driver was traveling too fast while towing the heavy load and later discovered he did not have a valid operator’s license. Officers arrested the 28-year-old driver from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and later released him on a summons.

He now faces charges for driving without a license, careless and imprudent driving, and failure to stay on the right side of the roadway.
