Tragic 2-Car Crash on El Monte Road Kills 1 [San Diego County, CA]

San Diego County, CA (May 30, 2025) — On Thursday morning, a fatal two-vehicle crash on El Monte Road claimed the life of at least one person.

California Highway Patrol officers responded around 11 a.m. to the collision on El Monte Road near El Cajon Mountain Truck Trail, close to El Capitan Reservoir. Authorities confirmed that at least one person died in the crash, prompting a response from the county coroner.

Investigators said both vehicles left the roadway before emergency crews arrived. One vehicle came to rest deep in nearby brush, while the second sustained heavy damage several feet off the road.
