Tragic Accident on County Road 334 Kills 2

Two Festus Residents Killed in Reynolds County Rotorcraft Crash

Reynolds County, MO (September 27, 2026) — Two Festus residents died in a horrific accident on County Road 334 after a Magini Gyro crashed on Wednesday.

Authorities say the incident happened at about 5:53 p.m.; the rotorcraft was traveling east on County Road 334, approximately 5.5 miles west of Annapolis, when it struck a power line and crashed.

A 54-year-old Festus man who was operating the aircraft and a 50-year-old Festus woman who was aboard as a passenger both suffered fatal injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that both occupants were using seat belts. The Federal Aviation Administration has taken over the investigation into the crash.
