Motorcyclist Killed After Collision with Work Truck on Santa Fe Drive in Sheridan

Sheridan, CO (July 9, 2026) — On Wednesday morning, a motorcyclist lost their life in a crash on Santa Fe Drive in Sheridan, according to police.

The collision happened shortly after 6 a.m. at the junction of northbound Santa Fe Drive and westbound U.S. 285.

Investigators said the motorcycle struck the rear of an Xfinity work truck. Authorities have not released additional details about what caused the crash.

The fatal collision prompted officials to close the northbound lanes leading to westbound U.S. 285 for an extended period while investigators processed the scene. Although traffic continued to move along Santa Fe Drive, lane closures caused significant delays, and police advised motorists to avoid the area when possible.
