Driver Dead After Crash on Santiago Canyon Road

Santiago Canyon, CA (May 31, 2024) – On Monday, a driver died in a crash on Santiago Canyon Road.

Reportedly, a motorcyclist and their passenger crashed on Santiago Canyon Road after striking a deer. The deer ran off after the collision.

A driver in a red compact car, witnessing the crash, attempted a U-turn to provide aid, according to a CHP sergeant. 

While making the turn, the red car was struck by an eastbound SUV. The impact pushed the red car into a ditch and a tree, resulting in the driver’s death. 

The SUV driver was not injured. The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. 

The motorcycle passenger was unharmed and took the bike away from the scene.

CHP is investigating the incidents as two separate crashes.
