Tragic Crash on SR-60 Kills Los Angeles Man [Beaumont, CA]

Beaumont, CA (November 20, 2025) — A deadly crash on SR-60 in Beaumont claimed the life of a Los Angeles man Monday morning after a loose tire from another vehicle struck his minivan.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly after 11 a.m. on the westbound side of the highway, just west of Jack Rabbit Trail.

CHP investigators say a 54-year-old Riverside man driving a silver BMW 328i lost his left rear tire while traveling eastbound. The tire broke free, went airborne, and shot over the center divider into oncoming traffic.

A 68-year-old man driving a white Toyota Sienna in the westbound lanes hit the airborne tire. The impact crushed the windshield and roof of the Toyota, causing the driver to lose control. The minivan then slammed into the center divider before veering into a dirt embankment.

The Toyota’s driver died at the scene. A female passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The BMW driver was unhurt.

CHP continues to investigate the incident and encourages anyone with information to contact the San Gorgonio Pass office.
