Tragic Crash on Westheimer Road Kills 88-Year-Old Woman [Houston, TX]

Houston, TX (July 22, 2026) — Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash on Westheimer Road that claimed the life of an 88-year-old woman.

The collision happened around 10:55 p.m. on July 16 in the 7800 block of Westheimer Road. Investigators said the woman was hit by two westbound vehicles. A gray Hyundai Sonata remained at the scene, while the second vehicle, believed to be a black car of an unknown make and model, fled before officers arrived.

Emergency responders transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries on July 18. Authorities have not released her identity as they continue to notify her family.

The Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate and is asking anyone with information about the fleeing driver or vehicle to come forward.
