2 People Dead in Ventura County Auto Accident on 23 Freeway near Los Angeles Avenue

VENTURA COUNTY, CA (March 2, 2026) – Saturday night, a tragic head-on crash on 23 Freeway near Los Angeles Avenue killed two people.

The incident happened at around 2:05 p.m. on the 23 Freeway near Los Angeles Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a southbound 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 used the center median to pass other traffic at a high rate of speed. Then, the Chevy lost control, drove up an embankment, and over the center median guardrail into the northbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a 2013 Lexus ES350.

Moreover, officers confirmed that a 22-year-old female passenger of the Chevy and a 42-year-old female driver of the Lexus both died in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
