Tragic Motorcycle Collision on SR 7 Kills Rider

36-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Early Morning Crash on State Route 7 in Pierce County

Pierce County, WA (March 25, 2026) — A 36-year-old motorcyclist lost his life early Sunday morning following a collision on SR 7 in south Pierce County.

The crash happened around 1:15 a.m. along State Route 7 near 240th Street East, south of Spanaway. Authorities said the rider was traveling southbound when a 20-year-old driver from Yelm attempted to make a U-turn from the center lane.

The motorcyclist struck the turning vehicle, and both came to rest in the intersection. The rider suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Emergency crews transported the other driver to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup with injuries.

Officials closed the roadway for about four hours while investigators worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
