Tragic Multi-Car Crash on Interstate 805 Kills Woman [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (May 04, 2025) – A woman was killed and 4 others were hurt Saturday morning after a horrific multi-car crash on Interstate 805.

According to authorities, the deadly collision happened shortly before 9 a.m. on the southbound side near Logan Avenue.

Reports say that the five-vehicle collision on Interstate 805 in San Diego left one woman dead and four others injured Saturday morning.

Authorities say that a black sedan, reportedly speeding, struck a disabled Toyota Prius on the freeway shoulder. The impact killed the woman inside the Prius.

After the initial collision, the sedan veered across lanes, crashing into a Honda and a Toyota Corolla. The Corolla became wedged between the Honda and the center divider. Flying debris from the crashes hit a fifth vehicle, a Nissan Rogue.

Emergency crews extricated an unconscious woman from the backseat of the sedan. Paramedics transported all three people from the sedan and another injured woman to a nearby hospital.

Authorities closed all southbound lanes north of 43rd Street following the crash. By 1 p.m., three lanes reopened, and full traffic flow resumed by 2:20 p.m.
