SANTA MARIA, CA (August 12, 2026) – Sunday night, a tragic pedestrian crash on 100 West Battles Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 8:39 p.m. at the 100 block of West Battles Road.

According to reports, a westbound vehicle struck a female pedestrian who was crossing the roadway.

Moreover, responders rushed the 39-year-old female pedestrian to Marian Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, the 36-year-old male driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was not suspected of impairment.
