Tragic Pedestrian Crash on 10th Avenue Kills Woman [Kennewick, WA]

Pedestrian Killed in Kennewick Hit-and-Run Accident

Kennewick, WA (December 5, 2024) On Tuesday, a woman died after a horrific pedestrian crash on 10th Avenue.

According to the Kennewick Police Department, the fatal crash happened at about 7 p.m. at the intersection with South Irby Street.

Reports say that a woman was fatally struck by a car Tuesday night.

Authorities say that the crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m. at the intersection of West 10th Avenue and South Irby Street.

The driver initially left the scene but later stopped on a nearby street and called 911 to report the collision. Emergency responders transported the woman to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have not released her identity.

Police closed West 10th Avenue between South Huntington Place and South Johnson Street for several hours to investigate the crash. Officers searched for evidence and spoke with witnesses in the area.

The roadway has since reopened, but the investigation remains ongoing.
