HOUSTON, TX (January 14, 2026) – Monday night, a tragic pedestrian crash on 700 Southwest Freeway near Main Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 11:50 p.m. on 700 Southwest Freeway near Main Street.

According to HPD Sgt. D. Rose, a black Infiniti QX60 struck a male pedestrian who was attempting to cross the roadway. Then, a black Mercedes C250 struck the victim, who was already on the pavement.

Moreover, responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that both drivers remained at the scene and were not suspected of impairment.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Houston Police continued investigating the crash.
