Newhall, CA (March 7, 2025) – A 55-year-old Hacienda Heights man was killed on Wednesday afternoon in a tragic pedestrian crash on Highway 5.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fatal incident happened just before 3 p.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway near the 5-14 interchange.

Reports say that a semi-truck struck and killed the 55-year-old man.

Authorities responded to reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on the right shoulder of the freeway.

Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
