1 Dead in Los Angeles Pedestrian Accident on West Colgate Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 26, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a tragic pedestrian crash on West Colgate Avenue killed 1 woman.

The incident happened just before 8:00 a.m. in the 6200 block of West Colgate Avenue.

According to reports, a pickup truck crashed into a mother and daughter on the way to school in a crosswalk in the Mid-Wilshire district.

Reports revealed that as the Nissan truck drove fast at the time of the crash, it went crashing into an apartment building after striking two pedestrians.

Officers described the pedestrians as a mother walking with her first-grade daughter to school at nearby Hancock Elementary.

“From what we got from witnesses, they just described pure chaos, as the truck struck the apartment building,” added Bruce Borihan, spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

“Officers were pretty quick to respond and took that driver into custody and transported him to a local hospital.”

Reports confirmed that the 30-year-old male truck driver sustained injuries. Thus, responders took them to a hospital in stable condition.

Also, responders transported the 6-year-old girl in critical condition.
