Tragic Scooter Crash on 24th Avenue Kills Man [Seattle, WA]

Seattle, WA (August 13, 2026) — A tragic scooter crash on 24th Avenue left a 37-year-old man dead after a minivan struck him in North Seattle early Tuesday.

Seattle police received a 911 call around 12:44 a.m. about an injured man lying in the intersection near 24th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 85th Street. Medics performed emergency measures, but the man died at the scene.

Investigators determined that a westbound minivan hit the scooter rider on Northwest 85th Street. The 16-year-old driver returned to the scene and cooperated with police. Officers found no signs of impairment.
