2 People Dead in Kansas City Vehicle Accident on US Highway 71 and Meyer Boulevard

KANSAS CITY, MO (March 3, 2026) – Monday afternoon, a tragic traffic crash on US Highway 71 and Meyer Boulevard killed two people.

The incident happened at around 12:40 p.m. on US Highway 71 and Meyer Boulevard.

According to reports, a northbound Ford F150 traveling at a high rate of speed sideswiped a Ford Escape and rear-ended a Subaru Forrester that were both stopped for the red traffic light. Then, the F150 struck a westbound GMC Sierra.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver and a passenger of the Subaru dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the F150 to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Also, officers confirmed that the driver of the Escape sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
