1 Person Dead in San Jose Auto Accident on US Highway 101 near Hellyer Avenue

SAN JOSE, CA (October 8, 2023) – Saturday morning, a tragic two-vehicle crash on US Highway 101 near Hellyer Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened at around 3:15 a.m. on northbound US 101, near the Hellyer Avenue offramp.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Toyota Sienna and an SUV collided in the area for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash pushed the SUV to the right-hand shoulder of the highway, over the guardrail.

Moreover, officers confirmed that at least one person died in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
