EAST HEMET, CA (July 24, 2026)— Two adults and a toddler were injured in a crash on Highway 74 after a van struck them while they were walking in East Hemet on Friday afternoon.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 74 and Fairview Avenue.

Authorities said the two adults were pushing the child in a stroller when a van struck them at an undetermined speed. Following the impact, all three victims rolled into the roadway.

Paramedics and California Highway Patrol officers responded a short time later and determined that all three pedestrians had sustained minor injuries. Emergency crews transported the two adults and the child to a regional trauma center for treatment.

The van driver was not injured in the collision.

Officials did not close any lanes on Highway 74 or Fairview Avenue during the response.

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Injured in a Pedestrian Accident? Compassionate Legal Support Is Available

A pedestrian collision can be a traumatic experience for victims and their families, especially when young children are involved.

Even when injuries are initially described as minor, those affected may later experience pain, emotional distress, or medical complications that require additional treatment.

The aftermath of an accident can also bring unexpected medical expenses, missed work, insurance concerns, and uncertainty about what comes next.

At Sweet Lawyers, we understand how overwhelming the days following a pedestrian accident can be. Our team approaches every personal injury matter with compassion, professionalism, and respect.

We recognize that every person’s situation is unique, and we take the time to listen carefully, explain the legal process in clear language, and help clients better understand the options that may be available.

A thorough review of a pedestrian collision may include police reports, witness statements, photographs, surveillance footage, roadway conditions, vehicle damage, and medical records.

Investigators may also evaluate traffic controls, visibility, and the sequence of events leading up to the crash. Because every accident involves different facts, no specific legal outcome can be guaranteed.

However, understanding the available evidence can help injured individuals and families make informed decisions.

Following any pedestrian accident, it is important to seek appropriate medical care and continue following healthcare providers’ recommendations.

Keeping records of treatment, medical expenses, photographs, and communications with insurance companies may also be helpful as recovery progresses.

Sweet Lawyers believes every accident victim deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and personalized attention. An injury can affect a person’s health, mobility, employment, finances, and family life long after the collision itself.

Our team is committed to providing responsive communication while helping clients understand the resources that may be available.
